Looking for si shift boot DIY
I saw this DIY at one point- where it explained how to take off the shiftboot from the square metal ring the boot comes on, such as a civic EK si boot, and make it fit on your 7thgen... I cant find this for the life of me. Someone help me out with it please.
Re: Looking for si shift boot DIY
i just installed one my civic. i just carefully pulled it out through the holes. just make sure to do it slowly because you will rip it easily, and you will need the cut the bottom of some areas of the boot to make it fit with our setup.
heres mine with a skunk2 shift ****

Re: Looking for si shift boot DIY
^^ Yeah the EK9 OEM shift boot fits our cars. How much is the shop selling it for?? I paid $20 shipped for mine through ebay sometime last year.
I didn't follow a DIY to install it. I just ordered the boot, not knowing if it would fit or not. I figured its only $20. All I remember is that I used twist ties to hold my shift boot in place. You can't tell I used twist ties since they are underneath the shifter console, and plus the twist ties don't interfere with anything.
I have the same setup as Christian Calim, except my shifter console is the 03-05 version. Pretty much the same setup, even the same shift ****.
I remember getting the rectangular metal bracket for my shift boot. I saw it, inspected it, and see if there was any way it would fit with it. 1 minute later, I said "screw it", and threw away the bracket.
Oh, btw, you can probably just use staples to install the shift boot, just like how the OEM stock shift boot is installed. I just didn't want to install it like that in my ride.
