Problem with aftermarket tach?

Hey i had an aftermarket tach installed but the backlight doesn't come on automatically, everytime i start the car i have to press the button used to change the light color to get the light back on. i dont think this is normal since all the other tachs i have seen comes on automatically. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Problem with aftermarket tach?

sounds like the illumination might not be wired correctly.

Re: Problem with aftermarket tach?

tach isn't JDM enough bro, check JDMland.com

Skipbarber, isn't there just one wire to power the illumination on a tach? If he's getting power, it should be wired correctly. I beleive that it could be a problem within the tach itself. What kinda' tach is it?

Re: Problem with aftermarket tach?

Recheck the wiring but so long as you don't see any problems, it's tach related. If you're getting power occasionaly, it would be a bad ground.
