I have a '99 civic that's giving a P1768 error code. It's not low
on transmission fluid.
The D4 indicator on the dash blinks on and off, and the car will move,
but it feels like the transmission is slipping badly, so much in fact,
that I have to get a running start for it to climb upon the little car
ramps I use when I want to look under a car! I looked up under the
front of the car, and there is an electrical connector on the front of the transaxle that has broken off. I wonder what this device is that it is attached to, and could it be causing my problems.

I'm attaching a picture of a broken part on my transaxle. Can anybody
tell me what it is, and will the fluid leak out if I remove it?

circle the part on the pic and try to get a bigger shot..i cant even tell where that is

I found out that its the linear solenoid. I'm going to replace it, and hope that fixes my problem! Thanks.
