Okey, so I got home from a car wash, got to my parking space then close the (car driver side dohhh) door and locked it with my remote and then went to apartment to grab my spray paint and cleaning materials to touch up my DIY grill and clean my exhaust tip. so before I started spraying paint on the grill, I decided to open my hood and so i went around and tried opening my driver side door... then it wont budge, so i end up going to the passenger side and then try to push the door from inside but still nothing happen.. i tried unlocking / locking using the lock switch but the little thingy that goes up and down.. well in the passenger side goes all the way up but the drives side is kinda of off.. like not all the way up so have this ever happened to you?? some imput/ suggestion would really be a great help.

Try pulling up manually on the door lock rod (up/down) and jiggle it while you try pulling on the door release, and while doing that push against the door. If by any chance you get it open, take off the door panel ASAP and see if the rod is bent.

It also could be the door latch which hondas are notorious for. The only way to get that out is to drill it out.

i cant even push/pull my lock anymore. i need to use the switch lol. maybe something just broke inside. did you try flipping the auto lock switch on the door panel?

Yep, same thing happened to my brother in his accord. Good luck. It's a bitch to fix. He got in and out of his car Dukes of Hazard style until he got it fixed. You have to get the door panel off with the door shut to get to it. I feel you pain.

oh mehn... that sucks! lol i gues i have no choice but to go through the passenger side. whats a door lock actuator? lol and yes i did try the auto lock switch thing. I'll try doing that jiggle for sure. if ever, how much do you guys think it'll cost me to fix this?

My brother got it fixed for around $100.00. But, that was from a customer (friend) that runs a shop. I don't know how much of a discount he gave him, but I'm sure it's not too much more than that.

I know what you are goin through. I gotta go in Dukes of Hazard style too. Someone shot out my window and after i cleaned the glass out on the inside i tried to shut my door and it wouldnt catch. So then I shook the door and shut it, now it wont open. Ive tried everything from jiggling and pushing/pulling. If anyone has any ideas to help me out, besides drilling I would appreciate it. I have hte door panel part way off so I can get inside the door but it seems like the plastic latch that hooks on to the metal piece to hold the door shut isnt coming up off the rod. But then again im not an expert. Anyways any help would be good.

You have to get the door panel pulled back far enough to get your tools in there to remove the part. I don't know how he did it though.

Thats what i thought too but the piece is screwed and held in from the outside part which is unavailable to me since the door is shut.

what i think they mean is that their doors won't open at all. Even if you try to unlock it manually.

I have my driver side door lock actuator out too, but i can still open the door if i were to unlock the door manually. What it seems to be their problem is that their DOOR won't open at all. that must suck

mine's 2dr and yes I couldnt open my Door at all. I went in and out trough my passenger side today which i think is kinda funny sad.

GOOD NEWS FOR ME!!!! Sorry for you guys that still have problems but heres what happened. I finally got my whole door panel off and i was just feeling around the actuator box and between that and constantly locking and unlocking the door I heard a pop and it opened. I put in at least an 2 hours but you guys might get lucky too. But now i just dont lock my door or else it will probably get stuck again. But maybe this can help you guys. Maybe not...

yo jay it happened to me when i took my door panel off to fix my driver side mirror...it didnt work than i disconnected the harness from the door handle on the inside than manually unlocked it than reconnected it and fiddled with the switch just going up and down until it opened back up and worked again

sounds good mike but how am i suppose to get this panel off if i cant even open the door! lol, i took out my panel before but in order to that, i have to open my door, or i dont have to??? thanks for the info guys. i hope this helps.

the door handle on the inside has a lil plastic panel if u remove there is a screw u can undo to disconnect the harness from the door handle lock switch...disconnect that than fiddle with the lock on the side and see if u can do it that way
