How to get off overspray?

Hey, I just did the DIY on blacking out headlights but i have a slight problem. Due to crappy old tape, and my lack of ability to mask properly, i have some paint that leaked onto the housing.
Now what is the best way to get off this paint? Will paint thinner eat away at the housing chrome?

Anyone please help! thanks in advance!!

lighty water sand the housing with the lowest grid of sand paper and then rinse and wipe dry or you can use a tak cloth to get the left over thing thats on there before spraing, then re-spray housing .....

if its on the chrome, forget it. it practically wipes off with your finger. youre just gonna make it worse and the chrome peeling off.

right track...

you wanna use super high grit- like 1,000 or 1,500 GRIT, (not grid)

First try the clay bar, I bought Mothers Clay bar paint saving system. Its about 18 or 19 bucks if u dont allready have a clay bar. Try using that on there, if it doesnt work then move on to the sanding- wet sanding at that. You could use water, but I use a 'quick detailer' spray for the wetting. Keep it really wet- less scratches to buff out later. Make sure u finish with a high grit paper- like if u use 800, then 1,000.. dont go back to 800, always finish high- my highest paper is 2500. Once ur done, polish up and wax and its better then before!

Hope that helps.

hmm, it seems like you're gettting the paint of the car or a highly viewable place, would i really need to polish the inside of the housing? seems kinda extreme just for the housing, i think im just gunna try clay barring it. Thanks everyone though
