Can you put Koni shocks on with stock springs???
Hello, I was woundring if you could put on the koni shocks and leave the stock springs on. Will this improve the handling. im sure it will. You see I drive my car in the winter and I don't really want to lower it but I want better handling. And I beleive that the shock damping is the main factor to a good handling car. So tell me if im right or wrong...
Thanks
Thanks
You may want to consider the Eibach Prokits. Minimal loss of clearance, but greatly improved control and less sway. These would work great with the Konis and give you a pretty responsive ride without killing your ground clearance too much.

Word, but get Sportlines!
Where you gettin the Konis from? How much?
inca, get ground control coilovers with your konis. then you can raise your car up when you need to and when its nice out, you can drop it. im getting konis soon but right now all i have are the coilovers. during the sumer i had the car slammed and that alone made it handle way better that when i had the stock springs.

Other things to consider before getting coilovers...
The ones like the GC brand are a rougher ride than most springs and they wear down tires faster if not adjusted exactly equally.
I'd still probably get coilovers though, but it's a hard call.

So nobody has tried upgrading to Koni shocks and leaving the stock spring in? I really want to Improve the handling but if I lower with just springs won;t the shocks blow? This is getting me mad cause it sounds like I can't lower my car without also spending 500 on shocks too.

You can put just the konis in with your stock springs. And yes it will improve the handling. You wouldn't have to worry about setting the konis to the firmest since your car isn't lowered. But if you plan on turning quickly on turns, I would recommend getting better tires or rims that can grip the ground better.
Hi, sorry to have to re-open this thread again, but I just wanted to know, subsequently, has anyone actually fitted Konis on stock springs, and how's the result? In terms of handling and reducing the bounce of the car..
Would you recommend doing that if upgrading springs is something beyond budget?

The two biggest things you can do for handling are tires and shocks. I would personally guarantee that if you only put on the Koni's you will be very happy with the ride and the handling. I just don't see how anyone can go wrong with the Koni Yellow Sport Shocks.
