Wiring Help
I apologize if this has been asked already. Tried searching for it but couldnt really find any definitive answers.
I'm looking to install some reverse indiglow gauges and an alarm light. I figure I'll do them together since they are in the same area (alarm light is on the steering column). Gauge is in the mail right now so hopefully I'll get it today or tomorrow.
Gauge -
I hear this is pretty easy. Just slide it over the existing gauges from left to right and tape it on. For the wiring part...should I remove the wires for the existing gauge and replace them with the new reverse indiglow gauges, or tap into the existing wires? And is there plenty of room to work in there? Seems like it may be real tight.
Alarm Light -
I'm replacing the existing red alarm light with a blue one. Do I need to remove the whole 'casing' for the steering column? (2 screws on the bottom and pop it all off) And same as above..do I just tap into the existing alarm wires, or fully replace them?
Thanks

You will probrobly get flamed cause this has been asked many times before, but oh well. I have never done the indiglos personally so I cant answer that part. The alarm light you can tap into the same wires. Should be a simple cut and paste. Cut the old off and paste on the new... (With connectors ofcourse, not glue) Good luck

With the gauges just tap into the existing harness, red w/ blk stripe is the parking lights and use a chassis ground. I removed the entire cluster and took it indoors to pull the needles and put on the indiglos, didnt use any tape though. Just get a good diagram of the needle position with the ignition ON before the pulling them so when you put it back your not showing running temp or full tank with cold engine and no gas
I just re-did my alarm light w/ a blue one... and all you need to do is tap into the existing wire.
because the red light you got there already is a LED...
oh, and yours may be different, but on my 2k1 LX coupe, there are 3 screws on the stearing collum, and after the screws are out the top and bottom pieces just un-snap. Extremely easy!
