me wanty more zoom! help.
hey yall, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for more things to buy that will make me go faster.
I have a D17A1 (LX), yea I know no vtec but it was all I could afford at the time, I have a decent job now, engaged and made a downpayment on a house (so I dont have tons of extra money) but I was wondering if there are anymore things I could do to give me some more zoom, I have a AEM V2 CAI, megan EX exhaust from headers to muffler, AEM pulleys, AEM cam gear, grounding kit, throttle body spacer, NX wet nitrous kit running a 55 shot. (waiting on turboenginr to writing up that DIY for the D16Y8 intake manifold swap). So basically im asking is there anything left that I can buy..........do they make a cam shaft for the D17A1, I tried searching but nothing, should I buy a larger throttle body and try fabricating a new throttle plate? gimme some suggestions.

How fast do you want your car to be? Crower does make a cam for our car. Off the top of my head I know Dezod sells them but I can't think of any other vendors. http://www.dezod.com/cat_camshafts.cfm

with the money you spent on what you have now, you couldve had a decent turbo setup. Id say sell everything and go turbo. otherwise, do a crower stage 2 or 3 cam with an safc.

Rep Power: 302 Bah! Get out and push! K-swap is the best way on the 7th gen. The turbo's have problems in the long haul. Bolt-ons don't do much. Waste of money. The only bolt-ons the 7th gen REALLY benefits from is suspension.

Ever thought about how nice it is NOT having to take out a loan to get gas instead? Man, right now I laugh at SUV's at the pump. Geez... people are selling BLOOD to buy gas. I'm really liking my civic right now.

Rep Power: 0 I went out and picked up a used throttle body from an 01 LX today and am gonna send it away to maxbore.com and get them to bore the throttle body, if anyone has anymore suggestions please lemme know, and thanks too all already.

Rep Power: 0 In all honesty, I don't really think there's much to be done that can make a Civic a "fast" car, aside from something drastic (i.e. K-swap, turbo, etc.). The car is built for economy, not performance.

Rep Power: 0 I know Im not asking to be the fastest civic in the world, all I was asking was other than what I already have is there anything else I can do to go abit faster other than a swap or turbo.

Rep Power: 351 from where you are at now. i would say get a s-afc, a cam and start building it up so you can spray more. other wise then that your pretty much done. unless you go turbo or k-swap.

and i hear that removing your power steering pulley helps a little. but have fun trying to make turns. kinda hard.

suspension, you'll feel the difference and make it seem more zippy.
IMO, to make a car more fun to drive
1. Sticky Tires!
2. Good suspension (braces and bars included too!)
3. A bunch of friends that have slow cars like you too!
