why 2.25 inch piping
why is everyone puting 2.25 inch piping for their exhaust, why not 2.50 or 2.75 or 3 inch, what is so special with 2.25. just wondering cause i am fixin to get my exhaust, and wanted to know why
I believe it depends on the engine and how much pressure it can let out. I think with out mini 1.7, 2 1/4 is the biggest you can go, otherwise it's pointless and would only reduce torque. Only a theory I have... correct me if I'm totally wrong otherwise...

Because they throughly enjoy losing what little torque our cars allready have for the extra 1-2 Peak horsepower..
the less exhaust restriction there is the less torque you have..the louder the exhaust is.... Hence the reason all the exhuusts for our cars use only 2" Midpipes....Unless the engine is producing over 140HP allready anything bigger than 2" is causing you to lose torque where it's needed.. if you can get our cars to have 140HP at the wheels.. 2.25" Piping is the way to go..
