yes, cables must be dettached for revo install, then reattached.

If you read my diy from where you got that picture from you would know that you have to pry it out carefully. At least that's what I did. There may be some other way. But that's what I did and it is still working today

Here ya go!! Linkers

is it glued or something? i've been trying to pry it out for like an hour and it won't come out.

did you do it from the backside of the metal retainer? of from its side?

Take a small flat head screwdriver and put it on the top edge (where the arrow is pointing to) and hit it in there. It is like a spring clamp. Once you get the clip off, push in on the cable and pull it out. The cable on the left turn it counter-clockwise ( toward drivers door) It will roll out. Hope that helps ya.

Grey's bushing kit is supposed to fix the noises. It's basically just new washers and clips to replace the factory ones that get loose after all the prying and loosening. I don't even think he is around anymore.

on't know exactly which bushings you saw, but the ones I have seen replace the rubber bushings where the shift housing connects to the car with those 4 bolts. They elimnate the play allowed by the rubber. They make a nice difference, but it sounds like you need grease.

i got the bushings and the capyoda kit too with my SS i love it! anyway, flathead screwdriver on the bottom. it took me like 30 minutes to do it carefully so i wouldn't crack the stock shifter. i thought the left cable was harder. update it
