Rep Power: 0 The swap shouldn't be a problem at all... with the money that you spent for the swap, it would be wiser to go with a K20C (if it fits) or divert that money for a better car than the DX. Overall, it's all about how much $$$ you want to spend.

Rep Power: 0 people feel like they're inferior enough, and then you have people like lowboy20 that make us feel even more stupid. how do you expect new people to join the forums and ask questions if you make them feel dumb every time hey ask a question?

Rep Power: 0 trust me, after being here for a while and constantly seeing the same questions being asked, it's quite easy to get annoyed and be really bitter about it. that's why there's such a big deal about using the search function

Rep Power: 0 soon enough you won't be a newbie and you'll understand, meanwhile, you'll get used to it. and how in the world would a d17a2 swap be anywhere near the price of a k20c??? with the k20, you have to rearrange everything, including engine mounts. wouldn't the d17 just be a drop in?

Rep Power: 388 I know that it would cost more to swap for a K20, but why would u want to swap for an EX motor. You should have bought an EX from the start. You will be gaining 20 horsies, but put nitrous on there and you will go faster. It seems silly to me to swap a perfectly good motor with one that is only going to give you 20hp gain. If you are going to do it, do it right and get a better engine than an EX. Just my .02

Rep Power: 0 It's probably about as much $$ to trade it in for a EX....and then you have antilock brakes, sunroof, ect and keep your factory engine warranty

Rep Power: 282 I just bought an EX motor to play with. It was pretty complete, less the transmission.
Here is what you are going to pay more or less for this swap.
$1000.00 for the complete motor.
$500.00 for misc. parts like wiring harness.
$1000.00 for ECU.
And the labor.
See this ends up being a small return for all that money. A few bolt ons will get you most of the way to 127 Hp, NOS or a Turbo will surpase it. Heck, you could probably trade the car in for way less trouble and money.
BTW, I only bought the block because I wanted to build it up a little bit, and wanted my warrantied engine on a stand safe and sound, and still drive around while the replacement block is in the shop.

Rep Power: 0 alright, for some reason no one has said this yet.... MINI ME it! just swap the cylinder heads. the blocks should be identical. just go to a good shop, then you'll be alright. should save a bunch of cash too.

Rep Power: 0 The blocks are identical but you would need the VTEC ecu. Also the compression ratio is slightly different then the ex. The only rules they have out there is that you don't place an older engine into a newer car. Can put a newer engine into an older car. So you probally won't be able to get a JDM B16A, which would be well worth the money.

THERE IS NO K20C!! IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT AN RSX TYPE S MOTOR IT IS K20A2!!!!!
HTown's RSX-S Engine Code Pic
And don't bother swapping the ex motor. Just trade the car in and get an EX, it will save you a LOT of hassle in the long run.
