AC Reverse El Gauge Help!!

i know im going to get bitch at and i bet people are going to say. SEARCH!!
i aready read like all of them.but heres my problem.
i took everything out and now im in the part where you put your indiglo gauge over the stock gauge. Im having a hella hard time putting it on. trying not to remove/break the needle. i tried to install them by first inserting the orange needle throught the hole. and as i move my gauge closer to the center, that black piece behind the orange needle is kinda long to fit in that hole. do i just like press it down hard till it goes down? im afraid i might rip it.

PLEASE someone who installed an 00-01 AC Reverse El Gauge please reply

- $150, thats a lot.
- look for another shop, hell even the dealership could be less.
- i know there's a couple of diy's out there.
- search under the word "gauges"

bring it through the needle, and once it is threaded through the hole, there is a small gap under the needle that will allow you to push the indiglos a little under. that way the gauges will go over the other side much easier, hope this helps!!

you can totally take the needles off and put them back on... jsut mark where the needles are while the car is on and ideling... then jsut turn the car on and put the needles back.

here are the steps i went through.

DIY: AC Reverse El Indiglo Gauge

1. unscrew the 2 screws with a phillips under the overhang in front of your stock gauge.

2. there are 2 clips that are still holding that black thing. they are both located one on each side where that black thing and the steering wheel meets. now with a flathead screw driver. pry it out outwards. not upwards. clips should un-snap and you can remove that black piece out.

3. with a phillips screwdriver, remove the 3 screws. one from the left, one from the right, and from the top of the gauge housing.

4. As you take out the gauge housing, there are 2 plugs still attached. one from left. one from right. unplugged the plugs. (dont worry about any type of resets when you unplug these)

5. with the gauge totally out. now just take out the clear plastic by unclipping their clips. and also do the same with the black one underneath that.

6. Now take your Reverse Indiglo gauge. you should first start out by trying to put the RPM/MPH on frist than the GAS/Temp. slide your gauge through the needle and also bring it more further down by goign under the needle. it'll look like you dont have enough space to fit the rest of your needle. but just slowing push it down and it should go through. now do the same with the other needles.

7. Now with the black box with wires that came with the Indiglos. i put that black box near my fuse box and just threaded the wires through the hole on the left where your gauge cluster goes.
In step 4. the two plugs. look at the plug on the left. should be the longer cabled plug. there is a small red wire with black strip. that is where your going to get your power source from. taking your red and black wire that came with the indiglos. take the red wire and splice it together with the red wire with black strip. as for the black wire. i just grounded that wire by wrapping it around a screw in step 3. i chose the left one. (also make sure to connect the rest of the connectors)

8. Put it back together.

hope this helps anyone with indiglo installations.

oh yeah. forgot something

In step 6. after you finish putting on your indiglo guage. make sure to take some sort of adhesive to make it stick back kause your needles will get stuck as it goes up. you just need to adhere the hole where you stick your needles through. you can use double sided tape, glue, super glue, or the one i use. scotch tape. the tape you use to wrap presents. hehe. just roll it with the sticky part out and just stuck it underneath your gauge
