Hey guys, I have an 01 Civic LX Sedan, and it doesnt currently have a keyfob. I dont have an alarm or anything but I would like to buy a key fob off ebay but im not sure which one to buy... there are a few styles and i dont know which one and if it wil even work. ..

any help would be greatly appriciated...

Do you currently have Power door locks? I dont think you can just add a factory remote and it will work. You will probably have to look aftermarket for an alarm. The civics dont have an alsrm from the facorty anyways, just a ignition kill, or something like that so you cant start the car without the honda key.

yes, i have power locks, and the stealership said they misplaced the fob when they got the car, so it had one previously, just not now, and i know my husband had the same thing with his Grand Prix, but he bought a used Keyfob and programmed his power locks to open with it
