yep, exactly. i took a regular transmission funnel [cuz it wasnt long enough] and cut about 1/2" off the end so that i could squeeze a 1/2" tube through it while keeping it quite tight, really quite tighter than I normally like it. I used about 12" of 1/2" tube, ok, so now the tube reached the filling inlet to the transmission. I just poured it in!! yep, and I used genuine Honda ATF.

Sometimes you gotta just make this sh!it up Mr. Chowmein.

I paid $6.75/QT at Roush Honda in Westerville, Ohio. Then they charge tax.
Why can't they charge less $?

one change. they don't recommend a flush because it damages certain components of the transmission.

i think we are talking about two different methods of flushing. im talking about the flushing honda recommends in the manual: "to thoroughly flush the trannsmission, the technician should drain and refill with Honda atf-z1 then drive the vehicle a short distance. do this 3 times then drain and refill the transimssion for the final time" and not the pumping of a cleaning agent throught the tranny method.

this is on page 220 of the 02 civic manual.

ya but they only do it once. Thats why I have it changed every 10k, so there's always new fluid in there.

what do they say a regular flush will damage? i did mine about 10k ago, with regular atf + additive rec for honda. all fluids + any damage that would be caused by them are warrantied by the company we get our machine and additives from.

no problems yet...

including a dead tranny? wait and it will happen. if the flush is done properly, then maybe you'll be fine IF you used honda atf. so you prolly won't be fine.

yeah, including the tranny if it bites it.

what are you basing this off of? i mean if anything besides honda atf caused them to fail i would think there would be a bulletin to shops using everwear produts and machines.

the honda atf is specially formulated with small molecules. the tranny is very sensitive and other fluids might not be able to lubricate as well. i know someone who flushed their tranny with mobil1 and 40k later the tranny was broken completely.
