Trunk pop up solenoid install...

Hi,

I had a trunk pop up solenoid instaled by the local Fry's "profesionals" . I dont like the way it is . Can be hide it somehow. I woandering how you folks hawe this instaled. If you can post some pics of it it will be great. This bastards at Fry's also cut along all the black plastic tubes to install the wires . Is this the way it is down normaly? Not to mention how they perforate the fender with no question asked .

about what? buy the accord latch and wire it to an empty channel on your aftermarket alarm.

Okay, I'm feeling stupid....

Once you do the install, how do you pop the trunk using the OEM fob?

You can't, the stock Civic keyless entry system has no third channel for trunk release.

There is currently a project going on though (involving my own car) where the keyless entry system was upgraded to the CR-V version with the fob in the key head, and the CR-V does have a third channel. I've already installed the '01 Accord trunk release too, I just need to figure out completion of the circuit.

If/when I am successful, you will read all about it over here:
