Automatic question???

when i put it at P drive i step on the gas the highest would reach is 5000rpm is there a way to go up higher? cause some other cars can... i know manual car can.. is there a way to do it for the 2k1 civic(auto)

that would be your revlimiter. you need to upgrade your ecu to go any higher. mine will go up and bounce from 5500, down to 4750, then back up and down. you can either edit the programming on your stock ecu, or find somewhere to get another one and put that in. it's only to save you from killing your engine, and there's no need to rev in park except to taunt somebody [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] so if i were you, i'd just leave it the way it is for now.

i am not talking about the redline..dude.. the rev limiter... if your is manual..you'll probably can..

yeah, mine revs up to 5,500 in park and then bounces there. pretty cool the first time I did it.

No, mine IS an automatic, and i can sit in neutral, and it will rev all the way up to 6800 before it bounces...

if i am in park or neutral it stops and bounces around. but i found out that if i am moving a little bit i can get it to go up to 7000! i was kinda happy!

ya..when my car moves it's like 7000 rpm..but when it's not..it's about 5000 just want to see if i could remove..that's all.

When it is in (P)ark, it revs at 5000 rpm. When you put it into gear, the rev limiter changes to 6750 rpm.
Our cars (automatics) are equipped with an ignition that has a built in 2 stage rev limiter.
