cigarette light wires

does anyone know which wire is positive and negative? there are 2 wires, black and yellow/green.

I wired in some LEDs recently, but I can't remember which is positive and which is negative. I always assume that black is negative, so that's probably what I did.

LICK EM. OR TAKE A LIGHT BURL FROM A FLASH LIGHT AND RUN A WIRE TO A GROUND and run another from the light to lighter wires if it turns on then that ones the positive.

use a voltmeter, probably easiest way and safest way...

just to add to kyles post...usually when u deal with electricals on cars it is 99% of the time the black wire is the negative ground...and the colored wire is the positive power wire...i took automotive electricals and i learned a **** load of stuff from that

Exactly... I didn't look this up, or use a meter, or a light. Just some common sense.

yeah, i thought that the black wire was the negative one, but wanted to make sure before i did anything with those wires. thanks. oh btw kyle, i gave you some rep!!!
