Battery Light Issue

Have a buddy who is having problems with his battery light staying on ..

He's changed the alternator and the battery .. he's checked the grounds near the motor .. everything looks fine. Unfortunately the light stills remains on.

Any pointers/trouble areas to look into?

battery light means charging system problem (alternator). Hook up a volt gauge and see what the readings are.

if it happened after, then yea the belt might not be tight enough. Otherwise the alternator isn't working. What does the voltage read now after the car is on?

Is the battery still going flat, or is it running ok??? I am no expert on auto electrics but there is something in the the car that monitors the current produced, hence too much or too little and the light comes on, propably the device that i am trying to describe is at fault. No idea what its called.
