Ah, so that's the problem then. The buttons are slightly different because they had to fit two of them in the '02. I wonder what the second one is for?

i dont know that they are smaller for 2002, my problem is that the switch is too small, not the hole.
dont you have a little pocket under your switch in your 2001?
they took the pocket out for 2002 for some reason (i guess to put 2 switch spots in )

edit: lol forum messed up my faces, instead of i got :confused

Man! when I bought the switch, It just fitted there and that's it. I think they think that 01 civic switch is the same as 02, go to the dealer and ask. They might have an 02 switch and they don't even know about it!

Diznavis, take a look at your switch harness. The one that plugs to the switch itself, are the pins lined up straight or are the pins shaped like a letter L.

The straight harness is for the sedan. I know because that is what Hand A sent me the first time. The switch that I bought is colored brown and the harness is shaped like an L. Also, the switch just pops in from the front.

I am trying to use the factory fog switch for my underbody kit. I need some help with the wiring for the switch. Does anyone have any idea what pins are for what on the 02 coupe ex fog switch (the one with the brown back)? I have determined that the five leads are 1. 12v+, 2. Ground, 3. Output to turn the fog lights on, 4. illumination for the backlighting for the switch, and 5. illumination for the ON LED for the switch. Does anyone have a diagram or any idea how to test for me what pin does what. I don't even ahve the harnes that wires up to the switch I am using Female spade connectors. So if anyone has the time to test the wires with a multimeter and tell me what pin connects to what I would appreciate it.

i wouldnt use the female spade connectors, i would try to get the wiring that comes with the fog lights from a dealer, tell them yours got damaged or something so you can buy another one, it couldnt cost that much... then cut the connector for the switch off and use the wires. you would end up with a much better job in the end

See that is the problem, The dealer won't sell just the fog light harness they told me that I have to get a whole fog light kit or a whole main cabin wiring harness for $250. I never had the wiring for the fog lights. I only bought the switch to use for the underbody kit. I know that the spade connectors are not the cleanest way of going about connecting the switch up but I don't really have any other cheap options. So I still need the information about what pin connects to what for the brown fog light switch.

Thanks,
Brandon

try calling another dealer. tell them you bought the fog lights and accidentally cut the wiring that came with them. maybe your dealer was just lazy and didnt want to do it for you. i havent tried so i dont know if you can get it seperately or not. you might also want to find out if the EX cruise control button is the same or not, maybe you could get the wiring harness for that
