Well have you had your alignment checked, or did you just keep driving on your tires untill the cords started showing. Just cause the cords start showing doesnt mean you need an alignment. Now if it is only on one side of the tire and the other side has alot of tread, then it needs an alignment. And no even if a car isnt lowered, it might not be able to get back within specs do to parts wearing out.

all 4 tires were like this on the one side with the cords showing through and when i'm driving i can take my hands off the wheel and it doesn't go to either side.. and this was only with my aftermarket rims.. my stock rims and tires are fine.
Overall diameter of your aftermarket wheels/tires may not be the same as stock diameter.
I had 205/40s on 17 inch rims on stock suspension.
The alignment was to specs with the stock diameter so over time I had camber wear.
Go get an alignment and it should fix the problem unless your aftermarket tire size is way too off.

Get your alignment checked. It doesn't take much to eat tires quickly.
I take it you ripped up the inside edges, which is usually a sign of toe in. How many miles are we talking here?

If I remember correctly it was around 10k?
So if my new wheel/tire size is...say 5% off using the tire calc, the tires would still be flat and level to the ground without a need for an alignment?
If it is, then I drew a bad picture in my head

The car just sits lower by whatever amount the tire is shorter. You didn't change anything in the suspension. If no geometry changes, your alignment doesn't change either.
I do my alignment with different wheels on the car every time I do it, it doesn't matter.

the SPCs...are greatr camber kits... but have a wheel shop to inspect your tires and get a proffessionals, opinion on this matter, it may jus be a alignment or could be something wrong with toe or something, but my SPC is great andd nicht problems....
