I read the DIY on removing the head unit but i'm stuck on the last step. After unscrewing the two bolts, how do you pop the head unit out? Push up and out?

I'm new to this forum by the way so if there's another post related to this how can I get to it?

It's been a while since I removed my stock radio, but if I remember right, you just have to pull it hard.

umm there is something that was jsut posted about this like a week ago, so use the searc. but to get teh whole thing out you have to take the entire piece out heater controls and all.

I did it for my 01. I'm not sure if the 05 is similar to the 01, but here's some advice anyway. After removing the piece where your lighter jack is and removing the 2 bolts that hold the head unit in place, you have to reach up in through the opening, you should feel a piece of metal. You'll have to push on that piece of metal really hard in order to pop the head unit out. It's held together with clips, so don't be surprised if they fall deep in to the abyss of your dash. I'm still missing 1 or 2 of mine to this day, but no big deal. If you're still having trouble feel free to msg me.

get butter knife and pry at it.. where the clips are.

yeah, it's best to use a tool to pry from the front, just use electric tape to cover the sharp edges.... when I removed mine, everyone was telling me to just push like I have never pushed before... it's tough.
