Intake/header/exhaust don't do much so you need to spend your money on upgrades that actually help or make the car look good. Here's my suggestion I wish I would have went this route but oh well.
1st- Tighten the throttle cable check DIY section
2nd- TB heater bypass check DIY section
3rd- Buddy club race spec condenser, grounding kit(I have it and it increased MPG by 3)
4th- New head unit(radio)
5th- tint
6th- rims/tires
7th- drop(full coilover)
8th- neuspeed front sway bar
9th- New speakers and or sub with amps
10th- upgrade the rear sway bar
there's plenty more just look around and do your research here most mods have been covered and experienced by members here. Have fun just don't expect your car to be a rice rocket it ain't happening without a Turbo or engine swap to a K20 or k24 or a frankstein of both and to a lesser extent nitrous is also a option. Most aftermarkets parts can be purchased from members here(used of course) it saves you money.

My retort would be that depending on how you want to 'mod' your car, his list is not so good.
Example, if you live in Arizona, Window Tint might be your first option!
Or...
Lots of people don't do wheels before they do suspension...
Or...
Lots of people don't beleive in the grounding system as a viable mod...
I don't think one sticky can accurately represent to multiple people how they are best to mod their car. That's all.
its all based on what YOU want. if your wanting others opinions, expect various different answers and replies.
if i were stock and had a chance to start over, i would do as much DIYing as possible THEN consider cashing out bucks for parts. i regret investing money into my civic and if i could, i would start over fresh. im sure many others on these forums would like the same..
akmike, what do you do with your civic? daily driver/track/drag?/etc
expections out of these "mods". etc.
heres my first mod suggestion, NEW TIRES! the OEM firestones are dangerous tires and can lead to more problems and/or serious injuries IMO. a car relys on its tires every single day and cheaping out on tires doesnt cut it. if your stick rocking the firestones, i wouldnt risk those. i hated them so much i replaced them after 5k miles

I read on 3 threads that for everyday driving hard BF Goodrich's Traction T/A's are the best. Any comments on that? I'm gonna be needing tires soon and I was seriously considering them.
I heard the very same thing from a local discount tire warehouse. They have been selling a pile of them, appearently.
I asked about the price and they are quite reasonable, I thought. $105 CDN each installed and ballanced for a more normal size.
We bought our 01 Civic LX used and the previous owner put some POS tires on it. I am looking at new rims and some Traction T/A's for the non-snowy times of the year.
