Yep it's ghetto-tastic. This is just a temporary setup until my AEM V2 comes in anyway. What can I say? I like the look of an aftermarket intake and I like the sound, so I think that it is worth the extra money. If you want a little boost in performance though, and don't want to spend any money, then this mod if for you. It didn't cost me anything. The only part that I used that wasn't already under the hood was the wire that holds it in place.

I heard from a memeber here, I guess it was someone called "GEARBOX" who had bad experience with stock modded intake.

I has a theory on it, I hope he can tell us what was going on.

This is how the intake looks with the resonator gone.

This pic show how I have the horn tied down. I used some pretty heavy duty wire that I had laying around. I don't that that it will be going anywhere any time soon.

This is what my engine bay looks like with the finished product. I was pretty surprised at the amount of room I freed up. Now I have a way to smuggle Mexicans across the border.
do you have a AT or MT?

do you mind updating us if you get reliability problem or not in the future?

thanks

Oh, sorry, I forgot to say that. I have an AT.

As I said earlier, I'm not going to keep this setup for very long. I have an AEM V2 on the way. I hope that this doesn't cause problems because I just showed everyone how to do it. I don't see how there would be a problem, but I guess that is a chance that you take with any mod.

So am I missing the horn piece that connects to the hole on the resonator?

mmm, it looks like you are missing that piece. You should go to HOnda and ask them to show you the engine compartment of a civic. I think they all have one.

Or you are having SI?

that looks so ghetto. Just get a 3 inch plactic flex tube and run it from the filter box to the area behind the battery.

Thats not a plastic flex tube. That is the rubber tube that attached the horn to the resonator.

youre not getting the colder air like the stock setup. Any home depot has tubing.

In fact the CAI generally sink in air that is 5 degree C lower than RAM. @ 5 Degree C difference, the air (o2) is really not much denser at all. The whole thing is really just marketing and looks.
