New 05 EX starts hard

THe past couple of mourings Iits been I would say around 55 or so degrees and my new EX seems to take a second to pop off when im trying to start it. I dont think its that cold so it should start up normal. Anyone else have this problem? My older 2000 ex does the same thing but it use to do it when the gas was low. in my 05 even when i have like 3 quarters of a tank it does that i would say probably 45% of the time. Let me know what you think

My 02 EX kinda does the same thing every so often. Im in tx so the weather here really doesnt get that low often. I took it to honda to have an inspection done right before i hit 30,000 and told them about the prob. They couldnt find anything wrong with it. Im pretty sure its because of low gas....im not sure though.

Low gas. When hondas get even remotely close to low gas and it settles for a while, it will start like that. Happens on my 03 EX and on my mom's 99 LX.

See the thing is it happens even when i have 3 quarters of a tank. I mean it doesnt happen alot but i guess it could be a gas problem i do remember though having a little less then 3 quarters of a tank parked it after i got home from work at 5 one night got in at 8:30 the next mouring and it did it

are you parking on a slanted surface (such as a driveway) becasue my car does the same thing if I park to high on my driveway, we have a small slope, but if I get too close to the house, my rear tires hit a little bump, and if I go farther than that, my car has a hard start in the morning, the fuel gauge reads normaly, but it starts like I have low fuel(BTW it did it this morning and I have a full tank)

actually i park in back of my apartment building which is a flat surface. but i see the point your trying to make. the parking lot itself could have a slight slant but it defiantly is not a noticable one

Hey have I have the same problem. I have an 05 ex only 2 months old. When I park the car say outside when I got to my friends house then party all nite and wake up and leave in the morning, that car really cranks a lot before it fires up. I noticed that and told the dealership...they blamed it on my intake. I dunno what really wrong with it, but once the car warms up and u turn it off and try again the problem is gone. Also my car is garaged when I'm at home...sooo normally when I get up its fine. Only when its parked overnite in the cold.

hmmm well im glad to see there are other people with the issue. it happened in my 2000 si as well. but i dont have any idea what it is. it could be gas like people state or sumthing else. not your intake though cus i havent modded mine at all yet i have all the parts but none are on so mine is completely stock and i have that problem. what the hell right haha

when you guys start up your cars, turn it to the on position for a few seconds, so the fuel system can pressurize (or something like that). then start the car. mine used to have that problem, but now that i do that EVERY time, it hasnt happened in a while.

if that fixes the problem, it is your fuel pump need priming... my friend had that problem w/ his firebird... but the only way he fixed it was to get a new fuel pump... but maby I would suggest changing your fuelfilter first if you are going to go that route, just to be on the safe side... fuel filter is cheaper and my just be what is slowing you down... just a thought...

I usually wait until the flashing green key sign disappears before starting the engine.

I usually leave my key in the one posittion for a second before starting. I feel that this lets the cars fuel pressure build up before turning over. I will only do this if it has sat for a long period of time like over night.
