Intake problem
Intake problem
Alright well, i ordered an intake for my Civic... and it hasnt arrived yet... but my vic has an auto tranny and my friend said that the CAI wouldnt fit because the tranny is in the way... he also has a 7th gen but manual and we compared our engines and seeing where his CAI is, once my intake comes in, i could tell it wont fit... does anyone know if i can some how customize it to fit or position the intake in a way that it would

you can sell it. or just run it short ram.. although there's probably better short ram out there.

It will fit your automatic.
The top pipe will be installed at a different angle so the bottom pipe can fit.
You will have to bend the top pipe bracket to screw it down.
You won't have a place to secure the bottom pipe because that bracket was made for a location manuals have but autos don't.
You will have to create custom brackets or just zip tie it.
You need the appropriate sized filter or else it will bang into other components since space is tight down there.
The welds on the brackets are really weak so be careful.

well you can custom fit it, as mentioned. heh.
i duno those, those generic brackets can be taken off by my hand..
there's not a lot of space but i guess if you fiddle around with the coupling you can make it fit, since this is a pretty small intake system.
