CHECK ENGINE LIGHT Questions
My check engine Light came on out of nowhere a few days ago, i dont kno why it did, i dont have any mods under the hood. no exhaust whatsoever. the only thing i did was take out the air box so i can hear my vtec more and that was a year ago.. i tried resetting the comp by unplugging my negative line and it worked for a day, now its back on.what does it mean. please help

NO! a Diagnostic is about $50 and not necessarily going to pin point your problem... If the parts/repair shop does not want to read your code for FREE then go somewhere else.
I have seen a lot of stores in my area that are no longer reading codes for free... the bastards. ..
btw good post street... he covered everything I was going to see...
My guess would be it may be an air sensor related to your modification... or just a blown sensor somewhere...
However you do need to get that code read and find out what is throwing the code. It could be something more serious. Even if you can get a shop to read the code and just tell you the code number... you can look it up on the sticky for OBDII codes in this Tech Stuff board. And someone here may be able to help you with that.

First I Really Wanna Thanx Aeveryone For Taking To Help My Dumb ***..haha, But Quick Quesiton I Got A Chance To Rent A Obdii Scanner But Where Is The Ecu Located On The 7th Gen?

I Must Be The Biggest Dumb ***, I Jsut Went Outside And I Just Found Out That My Gas Cap Has Been Off, Hanging On The Hindge, It Msut Been For About A Week. Do You Guys Think Thats Why My Check Engine Lights On?

Yes you reset the ecu by unhooking the negative for about 10 mins.
which u should do to make sure it's the gas cap, and that someone just didn't steal your gas last night >=/
Basically the fumes in the tank build up pressure that if are not present, it trips a sensor.
