Can u install Cruise Control on an 05 Civic Sedan VP
I was told by my dealership that if the car doesnt come with cruise it can not be installed. I dont think this is the case but the dealer might not install it. Does anyone know if you can install cruise and how difficult it might be to install and where i can get the parts from if i can install it. It is once again an 05 Honda Civic Sedan with the VP.
Any help would be greatly appriciated. I do a ton of highway mileage and if i could i would prefer to have cruise.
Thanks,
Jason

I believe most of the parts you would need are in the links above....but you would also need a cruise control switch for the steering wheel - that should be a negligible cost considering what the cruise control will cost, even if you install it yourself.

There are some aftermarket kits out there (Audiovox?) but being the freak I am, I just can't bring myself to trust another manufacturer's kit, because it's not built for our cars specifically.
Kinda funny, considering no one makes ANYTHING for my car specifically either, and look what I've done to the poor thing.

Ok help me out dude go in th lighting section and help me out with my Led question...

BTW to come back on topic..It can be done but costs alot are you very mechanically inclined????
you can add cruise contorl to any cars that have VSS. the best place to learn about cruise contorl is in www.the12volt.com
Audiovox makes a universal cruise control that is compact; it is available on eBay for $100. I installed one in my 2005 Civic VP Coupe. At first I was disappointed to see that there was a label on the box stating; "not recommended for Honda Vehicles"
but the label is out there because they do not provide support. The unit is working just fine. You connect the tachometer input on the cruise to the BLUE cable on the back of the dash cluster and if you have done the EX dash upgrade you also connect the Blue/Yellow stripe wire for the cruise indicator light (this wire has to be grounded when the cruise is on). I used the magnet kit provided on the passenger side inner CV joint and used JB Weld to adhere the magnets in place permanently. The rest is mounting the servo, making a bracket for the pickup, connecting the throttle wire and wiring the unit. I also put in power windows $100, a central power door lock unit $25, an Excalibur alarm $45, under car led lighting, and Audiobahn Speakers (4x 10 – 6x9 and 6 ½) and a 4 channel amp.
