I got power steering fluid on the altinator and now when I go to hook it up it blows the main batt fuse. do I have to get a new one or can I fix it?
I asked my bro about your problem and he said it's shorting out somewhere (obviously). Now, you can try and clean it up really well if you know how to dismantle an alternator. Depending on where it is shorting out, it might fix your problem. He recommends getting it looked at by a starter & alternator shop.
same thing happen to a friend of mine.. i took a can of WD-40 and used the straw and cleaned out the internals.. i literally used the whole can...then let it dry out bit and started it... worked fine after that
