M3 mirrors mounting problem
M3 mirrors mounting problem
The M3 mirrors I got off ebay have these 3-one inch plastic cylinders that are on the spot where there should be some sort of stud or screw. On the stock mirrors there are 3 studs that are connected to the car by three bolts. On my new mirrors there are just three plastic cylinders with holes in them. I need help on how I could attach these mirrors to my car. I have a 2001 LX coupe.
I ran in to that same problem when I installed my m3 mirrors (also ebay). I just took the mirror(base also) to auto zone and found some bolts that would thread into those 3 cylinders. The shorter the bolt, the better, as long as you have a 3/8's of an inch or so threaded into the cylinder(mounting point). I used some nuts as spacers on the bottom 2. I think I had to drill out the holes in the door a little, not a big deal though. Here's what mine looks like:

Yes they do sell them without the LEDs. I forgot to mention you will have to take the door panel off to get to those bottom 2 bolts.
