Starting to sound like a Firestone vs. Explorer issue...

That's what NGK said for their plugs. Maybe the stock Densos require less. Anywho, I don't have a torque wrench... service manual said to give the stock plugs a 2/3 crank... NGK said to give their plugs a 3/4 crank. I put in NGKs, so I gave them a 3/4 crank. I'll let you know if my engine blows up.

I have never ever used a torque wrench to tighten down any of my spark plugs in my entire life and I have never had a problem. I have never even known anyone personally who has either.

most plugs tell you how much they need to be "torqued"...I just purchased a set of Denso Iridium plugs and right on the back of the box it says 1/4 to 1/2 turn past the gasket seat....

I dont torque mine, just nice and snug, they shouldnt move or cause damage, I would say that is very rare. I was curious as to how many people actually do as well.
