IDQcivic should not be trusted
what wrong with where it is? You already have to get under your car to loosen the drain plug, and you can just reach up the loosen the filter, its really not that hard when I do it...

SMX is on a distinguished road
In a race-only application it makes sense. For the street, I wouldn't want the extra potential oil pressure failure points.

Wouldn't be much reason for it on a race car either, its just another line to blow. Only use I can see for those is plumbing an oil cooler in and moving the filter because of the lines to the cooler.
Besides that, there's no reason.. most of those kits are universal, they come with threaded adapters to fit different makes.

All honda filters for passenger cars are the same thread size starting in about 1988. So you may just have to modify the lines to make it fit.

the only reason is because for some reason i can never get the f*ckin thing off where it is for some reason it always takes me like 10 min struggling with it... and i do oil the threads when i put it on but idk it just seemed like a cool little doo-dad but you're right it does expose unneccessary oil lines to the elements.... guess maybe i'll try a different kind of oil filter... last time i ended up jamming a screwdriver through the filter to twist it off... cheap *** napa filter...

i personally suggest getting OEM honda oil filters and the OEM filter wrench. the wrench fits perfectly on the filter and NEVER slips, which saves you lots of time. you'll probably be paying a little more for the filter, but i think its worth it because it always saves me time in the end.
