IS there a point to shift above 3000 with a DX?

04civicvp is an unknown quantity at this point
Yes, peak torque doesn't even come until 4500 and peak hp is around 6100.

are you talking about 5 speed or auto? I feel any car with such low HP as econo boxes are made, ppl have no choice but to step on it and let the revs zip right past 3000 sometimes 4000 in daily driving.

haha.. still adjusting to shifting with turbo.. sometimes turbo kits in so hard that the rpms go up so fast that it passes my shift point that i normally shift.. but then again.. love that feeling when the car pulls hard and pushes u back into the seat

very informative reply. I'm sure that you've completely answered his question.

But no. no point to wait to shift if you're in no hurry and want better fuel economy.
Yes, if you just want to have fun or are in a hurry.

How can you tell what the rpms are with no tach But really it can't be that much slower. EX only has 5whp more, and the dx doesn't have heavy stuff like sunroof and AC.
