I have seen some members that have taken their autometers apart and been able to change the color that they illuminate. Can anyone describe how they did it, materials used and where to get them. Thanks

What the heck is an Autometer ? I have reverse indiglo guages they were pretty easy to install... I followed a DIY on the Site some where..

The lightbulb that illuminates the gauge twists out the back, you can change the color of the cover that slides over the bulb. By changing the cover, you change the illumination color. Simple process... takes a minute.

Autometer sells them. I would imagine that Jeg's, Summit or someone to that effect would also sell them, but I never looked in the catalog for them.

Condoms suck. Unless you use red or yellow, the other colors will be extremely dim. Go to superbrightleds and order a replacement LED bulb. File it down so the light diffuses, and voila! All the colors of the rainbow.

putt'n condoms on the bulb of the color u want wont really light up cuz of the red filter on the back of the face...if u really want to illuminate
take out the face n rub off the red,black filter on the back of the face...try not to rub of the lil pic of the check engine light n key in ignition n stuff or u ll end up like me lol

and the mcd(brightness) 2000+ the higher the brighter n the resister is 470 ohms not 470k...i dont noe wut wuts the detail on the 1/2 and 1/4 of a watt does but i use both of them neway let me noe how it turn out if u acturally did it n when u put the bulb in positive is mostly on the top part n if that doesnt light up switch it around to the bottom...let me noe how it turn out and take a pic have fun
