Noise from axle?

I'm a noob at most axle and transmission work, but whenever i turn the wheel to the left, I hear a cricking or knocking sound from the front axle. But when i turn to the right, there's no noise. Any idea what it is and how much it would be to get it fixed?

have a shop check your axle it might be going out if you have put a crap load of miles on you car like 100K+. my dads 92 accord has 114K and just put a new one on and even my girls 90 integra has about 120K and needs both replaced and that sounds like just like what they had but i might be wrong but still go to a shop and have them check it out last thing you want is your axle to seperate at speed

My car isn't lowered. It's 100% factory stock. I heard that it could be the CV joint? My sister had a Civic that did the same thing and her steering column locked up on her making her do circles.
