Air Intake question (more than standard question)
I have already did some searching and am interested in the K&N FIPK intake for my car, but I am wondering if anyone concerned about the small particle problems have tried out the Precharger Filter wrap or Airforce Precleaner as well?
Precharger: http://www.knfilters.com/wraps.htm
Airforce Precleaner: http://www.knfilters.com/airforcewraps.htm
Ideas on which would be better for smaller particles?
I'd also like to confirm that the Gen II FIPK would work fine on my 2004 Civic SE (VP/DX for those in the states) Sedan. K&N's website doesn't mention the FIPK on the listing for 2004 Civic when using the application finder.
TIA
*Edit: Here is the link to the filter I'm wondering will fit my car.

Use Synthetic oil on your car and avoid using the pre-cleaner...the syn oil will keep the small particles suspended in the oil thus preventing damage to your engine...the pre-cleaner is basically not necessary...as for the other stuff...not sure about that...

The precleaners are for flitering larger particles. If you're worried about particles getting in the engine, K&N is not the way to go imo. Apexi is the only company where the filter is actually effective, but they don't make a system for our cars. Remember the tradeoff--better flow rates for reduced filtering capacity. The difference isn't that much anyway. Just keep the stock intake. It's very efficient and keeps backpressure while filtering the air. If you want some more air going into the engine, get the throttle body bored out. That way you get the benefit without all the problems.

Right, but it's a hard one to make fit. The filter bolts onto their intake specifically.
Here's a little something.

Hmm... Thanks guys. Anyone heard/tried to modify their kits to fit? I'm looking for bolt-ons/minor mods to increase throttle response. I'd like to not try lightweight flywheel at this time... Maybe lighten the stock flywheel a bit...
Oh yeah, as soon as I get close to 8000km/5000miles, I'm switching to synthetic and mobile1/kn oil filter.
P.S. I'm still somewhat a noob, so bare with me please. Boring out a throttle body has what effect on an engine?

It increases the overall diameter of the throttle body opening. So you'll get more air flow at all rpms. I have one with the stock intake and it helps a bit. Not much tho. Also make sure your throttle cable is tight. There's a diy here and something in the vehicle issues forum. Hyper voltage system and ground wires might give some more torque as well.

Search! There's tons of info. Here are thr threads I started about it. Also check out maxbore.com for the TB boring service. I guess mine was the first 7thgen he did, but the pics speak for themselves.
