Rep Power: 0 Ex header on Dx engine
I have a 2001 dx and i cant find a company anywhere that makes a header for my car.(i have searched believe me) I've heard of people putting an ex application on a dx but i wasnt sure how hard it would be. Also if its possible then i guess i would have to get a new exhaust also. PLEASE HELP.

Rep Power: 0 Well I know that Kamikazee makes a header for the Lx/Dx cars the would not require to much work. I have a lx and got the lx header and the O'2 eliminater to turn of the check engine light that came on about 30 minutes after I put the new headers on. But then I got custom exhaust to finish the Header/ cat back system. But if you do go with the ex heads then it will be alot easier to get pre fab. cat back systems.

Rep Power: 0 bigjoshracing.com sells dx headers...if you went with an ex header, you would have to have custom exhaust ran the rest of the way back, cause the ex header will not bolt up to the rest of the factory dx exhaust

Rep Power: 312 if you get the ex header (which i'd recommend), you'll need to get a ex cat, sway bar, bushings, and exhaust.
The exhaust system of an ex as loads better than a dx/lx. It also happens to be how the ex makes more power than the dx/lx.

And one more thing, why do you need an ex sway bar? What are the measurements that we are trying to get around?

Rep Power: 0 I will be VERY soon... I have already purchased these parts from Dezod... Will be doing the install next weekend
Cat-91005
http://www.car-sound.com/universal/910.htm
Muffler-14809
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/m...tseriespg4.htm
25.4mm EX sway bar and Energy Suspension Bushings
DC Ceramic Coated Header and SS OEM manifold gasket
Casper O2 Sim
I'm getting the piping custom made from a friend who works at a muffler shop... but I'll try and take some pics and let you know how it all works out...
Total I've spent on the parts is:
30-sway bar
12-bushings
80-02 sim
225-DC header
96-Muffler
75-Cat
100-custom mandrel bent piping
Total-618
My solution will pass emissions... but is sort of illegal because I've changed the location of the CAT... however, there is a very good chance at the average smog check place I will be fine... I have to smog my car this october... so I'll let you guys know how that goes as well

Rep Power: 0 Okay, heres what I was talking about. HoldDaMayo purchased an ex sway bar that is 25.4mm. There is a guy in the diy section that replaced his lx sway bar that was 25.4 mm also. So again I ask, why the sway bar replacement for an exhaust upgrade?

Rep Power: 0 For the record on my 04 LX to EX conversion:
1. I didnt need the swaybar. 04 LX has the same swaybar bend as the EX.
2. I didnt need the O2 sim. One of the O2 sensor wire can be extended and reach the RandomTech hi-flow cat with no slicing either.
That was my intention too. But I wont be required to have a SMOG cheak until 2009. Unless I get pulled over and asked to.

Rep Power: 270 So I'm guessing the same thing in this thread would apply to my 04 LX right? I want to get an EX OBX Stainles Steel Header and a RS*R ExMag GT-II Cat Back, but the RS*R cat back is only made for EX models, and it probably won't fit on the cat. I haven't yet purchase these mods cause of this problem. Any suggestions guys??

Rep Power: 273 i say it once and many times again.. haha.. if you want to convert to ex headers than everything else has to be ex.. which means ex headers, ex downpipe, ex catback piping... the only modification u will have to do is extend the wire for the second O2 sensor down to underneath the car after the cat
