stay stock unless all you want is sound. The intake does absolutely nothing, the best intake for our cars are the stock intakes. Save the money you will want to spend on engine mods, and spend it on suspension or save up alot and get a turbo.

Ive got an 04 Sedan with an AEM SRI, dont bother with a CAI beacuse the filter is hard to get to and would be hard to clean, I got the SRI beacuse of looks, I didnt expect my car to go faster or anything, It takes ALOT to really do anything major for performance and a CAI is not going to make that much diffrence and is not worth the hassle of getting to the filter.... The intake does make a diffrent sound, not like a hot rod or anything, and when you shut the engine off it makes a cool hiss noise, so I got a 125 dollar good-looking noise maker....

I've been through an AEM and K&N. The K&N worked well, but their filters are crap. My car is pretty much ruined now with all the dirt that got past the filters. Save yourself alot of worry and money and stay stock with paper filters. Napa gold makes a good one you can upgrade to on your next filter change. Stay away from K&N and other intakes in general.

like they said, save you money for turbo, but if you really wanna get a CAI, IMO injen makes the best one...
and to where I live, I have to clean my filter every 2-3weeks 4max, well desert=lots and lots and lots and lots of sand and dust!

SRI is a short ram intake, I dont know if other companies call it an SRI but AEM does, the CAI filter goes all the way down like behind the front fender, Ive only seen one on an Accord not a civic, also there is a possibility of sucking up water with the filter being that low, Im sure it has to be pretty deep but still a posibillity, so you need a bypass valve, which fits in the intake tube at a specific point that will suck in air if the filter gets under water, there, another downside to a CAI.... As far as the horsepower 1-4, who cares, Im not drag racing Saturns at red lights!
You should be able too, I wont speak for anything but AEM, there are a few quality intakes I would consider, im not one for going cheap for car parts, but AEM and InJen seem to be the top 2 around here.... Some one else may have another good brand also.. dont get one of those 27.00 intakes off ebay they cant be that good, I mean they have to save money somehow so the quality has to be off...

Most intakes use a cotton gauze filter that you oil like K&N. These filters are terrible and don't really work well. The only filter that has been proven to be better is apexi, but those aren't really made for our cars. Stick with the stock intake with paper filter.

^^^^^ why couldn't you just get their(a'pexi) filter and use it on your piping for the intake? If it isn't the right size you can always just get an adapter or make one.
I just installed an AEM V2 intake into my LX automatic... perfect fit, nice sound and a noticeable boost above 4K RPM... all in all, VERY happy with the intake... although I do realize it's a bit pricey...
i might go with v2 also man, gimmi the site or adress where u got it from...i got an 04 ex automatic....post some pics of it in ur car...

I know that it will last alot longer if you put nice internals in it......there is a D17 getting R&D performed on it as we speak so there should be some nice internals available in addition to the few that are available allready....How long do you plan on keeping your Vic anyway?
But hey, worst case scenario, you blow your engine and you can get another one for $500.....big deal.
