better gas mph on highway
What up brothers,
When driving on on interstate I-95 east coast ( or any interstate highway) which is better for getting better gas miles mph?? Driving with a/c and windows closed or driving with windows down which give wind against our civics, which provides wind power against driving , which may lower our mph.......????thanks. Windows open or closed going 70 mph

Damn good question, I would like to know also. But im guessing driving with the windows up, and having the A/C at about two notches would give better mpg. Just a guess.

I always drive with windows up on the highway. It would be so noisy otherwise. But at that speed, an open window would produce alot of drag and lower mpg. You're better off using A/C. Also staying around 65mph will keep you just below the range where vtec engages. So that will help more...and use the cruise control.
you're talking about like 1mpg difference... so you should do what's most comfortable... if it's a beautiful day with a sweet breeze, rolls those windows down... if it's 110 degrees blast that AC!!
just my opinion...

this was on honda tech and i just recently check it out again. at higher miles if u have windows up and a/c ful blast, is same as windows down. on lower speeds ~30 windows half way and one notch a/c is best. thats all u need to know
This question was covered Sunday on Car Talk. Two studies indicated that windows down creates drag that exceeds the savings from not running the AC. Our cars are pretty aerodynamic with the windows up. Driving with the windows down creates a lot of turbulence and drag. I do it anyway on nice days, but for fuel efficiency, keep the windows up.
