Hi everyone, i just got a 2004 civic se for a present. .and installed one 12" sub in it.. kept the factory HU and got a passive line reducer for the two back speakers to rcas, however, everytime the amp is on, the sub makes wierd thumping noises. can anyone help?

are they just thumping like thump/thump/thump/ or do they thump when you turn it off or on? is it like a pulse sounding sound like the sound of a pulse?

you might be right about the signal for the speakers. or your RCA cables are too close to you power wires causing "noise" in the sub. check your ground also.


Mr. Modify, what does it mean if it thumps when you turn it off??? i have that problem.

not when u turn it on and off... but when its actually on and then the speaker flexes like crazy with a thumping noise.

My friend had the same problem too. His had a problem with the signal cables so u might want to check those out. Other than that you might have some cheap stuff on your ride.

subs are supposed to thump, that is why you buy them.

its the ground ... either tighten it up or sand it down more... put im tell u if your hear it when it turns on and offf.. 8 10 times its the ground.
