Diamondplate floor mats

So I was searching around ebay, and I saw some diamond plate mats that I want, problem is, I don't want to drop 100 bones on floor mats. as anyone here made their own? I'm thinking about going over to home depot or something and buying the metal and trying myself, but I don't know if I need any secial tools for cutting the metal.

Can anyone led some helping advice... I'll post pics once I figure out what to do....

I dropped like $150 on factory ones, I would pay $100 for diamond plate ones any day.

It was 88 + shipping on ebay... Not a bad price. It is for 5 pieces, but I would like to have my whole floor diamond plated...

Ok... I fail to see how in the hell the metal inside my car is going to fly up as a result of speed... As far as it weighing down my car, I agree it prolly will weigh down my car, but at this point I am goin for show. LAter on we'll see about speed....

I heard that with those mats you can kill urself when ur shoes get wet from the rain. Im thinking about getting them although, as those guys have said, they add some weight.

I really like the way it looks though. Like I've seen several cars on Import Tuner with the diamond plate flooring and I think it lloks really sweet.....

Think about it in the winter, granted your in texas but, if it rains or snows once, your floor plates will be slicker than ll hell. Causing your feet to slide around a lot and not have anywhere to knock the snow or rain off your shoes, causing you to drive with wet and slippery shoes on. It could prove to be a hazardous condition for driving
