I currently have an OBX B3 Bomb catback exhaust and an Injen SRI being my only engine mods. How much HP do you all think I would gain with the OBX top section headers?
if you want a little more hp, you have to get rid of that silly cat. exhaust are good starts....i have a aem sri, hp racing header with cat eliminator, test pipe, pulleys, cam gear, and ractive rear section and i posted 126 hp at 6700 RPM's......
first of all, searching for the $hit is B.S. half the time you have go through a million posts to get your answers!!! People need to chill out!!! Who cares if it has been talked about, just answer the damn questions!! Does it put you guys out that much??!! Well here is my advice for your question!! just do an axel back exhaust, and dont waste the money on a header!! Why pay all that money for a couple horsepower?? I sure as hell wouldnt!!! We drive Hondas!! All show no go!!! Just my 2 cents!
I agree, these are civics here, nothing fast like a cavalier or a probe. If you want to get some hp gains do a lawnmower engine swap. I'd stick with a honda mower, just be sure you take off the blades before the install.
IN my opinion work with what you got....If you afford a turbo thats your best bet....but if not bolt on do help a tiny bit......maybe not as much as we wish they did..but they will none the less...You might as well pull the cat off because that'll be one of your largest gains. And if your willing to lose your power steering and a/c get a crank pully....that should help alot too
i know that unless you replace the downpipe you wont feel much cause it is only 1" so if you have a header and exaust the the down pipe will cancel both out but if you get a custom d/p then you will feel it.and it feels good. hehe. that is how i pulled a 10.4 in the 1/8 spining all the way through first cause my tires suck. so get 2 1/2" from the header to a catco cat then 2 1/2" to the muffler. the whole thing cost me 280$ for the header DC sports 60$ for the cat 80$ for the muffler and 140$ for piping and labor. so 540$ total that is less then most exhaust systems for the same damn thing and you feel a differance.

Posts that have been answered before only take up space.

Why is it so hard to search??

So basically what im trying to decide is whether $130 for OBX headers are worth it, with the little HP gain? On a second thought, I also found a custom down pipe with high flow cat for our civics that is around $100. One thing im concerned about by getting this custom piping and high flow cat is inspection. I am alright with switching the headers with the stock ones when I get my car inspected, but if I get a high flow cat and downpipe, would I have to replace those too with the stock components?
not to be a di#k but if youre that worried about have to switch out youre stuff dont...yea its a pain in the *** doing it every so often...but its not a huge project either......so if your up to doing it switch it all out ...if not dont.....

ok, heres the thing, I don't mind switching out headers once a year. Its just that is the price worth the HP gain. Simple question, would you all go about paying a $130 for headers and only have maybe 1-2HP gain from the mod?
