Need Help (Oil Pan)
Need Help (Oil Pan)
i screwed up today when i accidently cross threaded my drain plug, so i need a new oil pan. Besides the oil pan and sealant, does anyone know if i need anything else in order to replace it. Plz respond if u know.
Ninerfan:
Buy or borrow a metric tap. Bring your drain plug so you
can match the plug with the tap. Chase and clear your old
threads in the pan and install a new plug and gasket.
This works most of the time and is worth a try.
Good Luck............

^^^^ I agree... its worth a try. Just waste a quart of oil and pour it straight through without the plug to make sure you flush any metal junk the tap cut loose... otherwise it'll make its way through the oil system, which isn't good.
If you have to replace it though... change the gasket with it.
