Have any of you had this issue?

my 01 Civic EX's rpm jumps between 500 and 2000 rpm once the clutch has been pushed when coming to a stop or just getting out of gear. its pissing me off because honda seems to think that it is normal for the damn rpm to not come down to a normal idle without jumping between 1000 to 2000 to 1500 before it setttles at normal idle. so have any of you had this issue? Sorry if this is a repost or the wrong forum but i did actually search but had no luck.

Thanks all

Check your air filter

If that is fine then take the fuse out for the ecu and wait for ten minutes and then start the car let it run for a few minutes so the ecu can reconfigure the air fuel mix.

Beyond that I don't know.

I wonder if your trottle is sticking slightly, or maybe a return spring broke.
