How hard is it to install an aftermarket TACH?

How hard is it to install and aftermarket TACH? the reason i am asking is because i have a 2004 Civic 2dr VP and its hard to drive without a tach, especially during the break in period!!

its pretty easy to install a tach on your car if you have a little knowledge about electrical and wiring stuff. but, if you cant follow the DIY on the link, just bring it to a shop.

Tachs are easy. You don't have to tap any wires under the hood. The tach lead can be tapped on one of the gauge cluster plugs. I know which wire it is for the 01-02, but they changed for 03-04, so I dunno which wire it is for yours.

The easiest thing to do is swap gauge clusters for one that has a tach, otherwise I recommend you have it done at a shop like everyone else says.
