steering wheel shake...

ok..i just recently had a minor accident, well..now everytime i got over 60 my steering wheel shakes...ive heard it could be my rims on my car are unbalanced now, well..i plan on taking them off tomorrow cause the weather, but i heard that i need to get my wheels balanced or i need my alignment fixed to fix the steering wheel problem, so im gonna do both this week...but..since im putting my stock tires and hubcaps back on...do i still need to get my wheels rebalanced?

Well most likely its not just your wheels and tires althought they could add to the effect it could be your whole car needs and alignment
i had a friend who never got a alignment on his car and it got so bad that on the freeway his side mirrors would shack so bad you couldnt even see out of them

Did it hit the wheel at all? if it did you could have damaged the lower control arm, or bent the wheel, or damaged the steering rack ect ect ect.... like above. Other wise I'd check the alignment, that would tell you if the control arm was bent, and a bad alignment could be the cause of the problem.

Lots of times, shaking steering wheels is the result of alignment problems or unbalanced wheels. Go ahead and do those, that should fix the problem. BTW, going over a bank could mess up your alignment.

there are also some type of "rings" to put on ur rims... they are about 5 bucks a piece. its supposed to make the ride smoother.
