damn dude.. u sure you didnt cut the sealant before prying it apart with all muscle? i'd imagine you'd break the sucker first... if not, then i stand corrected..

just buy some sealant from home depot or something.. something that will preferrably harden.. then just coat the gap of the 2 outermost pieces with the sealant, let it harden, then put back on your car... i personally havent done it yet, but will prolly do it when i get my car back...c'mon people... its common sense... at least for me..

how do you put it back together? put 2 and 2 together... that like asking how to set-up a monopoly board. You'll have two big peices left. if you cant figure it out, you wont be getting anywhere in the car tuning world.
jus buy some silicone sealent. some people had enough OEM sealant left on their headlight that they jus reheated it and pushed it together real good.

at pep boys is there a specific type of sealant to buy like headlight sealant or something?? we changed plans we are going to do this 2maro me and my dad. he has a heat gun and he said he thinks that should work to break the seal, he said that he had to do it on a couple of hims limosuines, (We own a limosuine service)
there was enogh sealant left on my headlights that they just stuck back together and you dont need a heat gun, just use a flat head screwdriver and muscle. It is easy I have done it several times. The main think to watch is dont get the stock sealant on the headlights they dont come off.
when i cleared my headlights it was a b!tch. People say use muscle and all'at ****, but its still damn hard to pry it open. Best bet is to use a hair drier. Put it on high, and blow dry the edges, your gonna need another persons help. One can blow dry the edges while you pry it open, its 100x easier. I didnt like the idea of puttin my headlight in the oven, so the hair dryer was the next best thing, and it came out perfect.

It is alittle harder then you guys make it sound. If you heat up the glue it just makes it that much easier to pull the two pieces apart. The info I can give you from doing this to two sets of headlights is the warmer the better. Using the oven will get the whole headlight to an even temp, rather than using the heatgun, this will help in pulling the two pieces apart. The heatgun will only heat up one section at a time and makes it real hard to pull them apart with only a small portion of the glue melted. If you heat the whole headlight, All the glue will be warm and it makes it very easy to pull them apart, using just MUSCLES. When putting them back together, the heat gun will work. First, use it to heat up the glue, then put the two pieces together and squeeze, and if you heat it up a little section at a time you can just about squeeze them back to normal. I had plenty of glue on both of my sets, that I didn't need any sealant at all. No moisture what so ever. Let us know how it goes.
Hey after you heat up the light and seperate the two halfs make sure to have the patience to let the black evil goo of death cool before you remove the frame from the lens cover. cause if your not planing on painting them then you may end up painting them (it looks better anyways) just to cover up your mistake of getting that crap on your crome (good luck getting it off and not f**king up your finish)
This is the best bang for the buck so do it, just take your time give yourself a whole day to get it don it took 6 hours for me (mostly waiting for paint to dry)
PS: if ya paint um use primer dammit!
