Engine shaking?

i barely bought my civic a month ago and ever since i bought it i noticed that the engine shakes a bit when u turn on the engine?

but after i drive it for awhile it shakes less and less

hmm ive been too busy to take it to the dealership

is this a problem or is that just how civics are?

another thing is that when my wind shield wipers are on low..it makes this ticking noise like ur signal does 2 times each time it moves

hmm lemon car?

That's just the way they are. My EX has been shaking the same for the past 39000+ miles and it still runs great. I used to be paranoid about it, too. Oh yeah, and I've noticed the "ticking" with my windshield wipers, too.. I'm guessing it's normal, also.

Dude... my car had 000003 miles, and it shook, and every other car I drove. From my friends 01 BMW, to my old 94 Saturn, to 02 Camrys. It's okay.

if you're car vibrates alot from the engine, you have broken motor mounts. I just replaced my front driver side top motor mount (located right underneath powersteering unit) and my lower middle mount located right under the header. After doing so, car still has the heart of the tiger, without the purr. =) Total cost of mounts was 202.50 and replacing them was plain and obvious. Well worth the money for the fix. Highly recommend if you have broken mounts to fix them.

think of it this way.. when you start your car, nothing is moving... but when you try to start it, you are trying to move the crankshaft, pistons, valves, alternator, power steering, an ac with a little motor... i think its gonna resist a little...

if this happens when you upshift fast and
are an agressive driver, then you have burned up your syunchros.

I felt my car shook more obviously than my 87' Civic 2 days after I bought it. Then, I brought it to the dealership and had them compared with another 7thGenCivic. The result was that my car had NO problem even the engine might vibrate a little bit stronger than the other one. Right now, my car already has 15,000 miles and still running great. Not a single problem yet. So relax! It is ok (in my opinion).

It's absolutely NORMAL! The engine mounts are designed to expand with the heat of the engine. When you start your car the engine is going to shake more than normal because the engine bay hasn't heated up yet. So don't worry at all, unless it is shaking violently.

Also, my windshield wipers click as well. I can even feel each time they move through the pedals. My guess is that it is normal, since I haven't had any problems at all.

YOU DON'T HAVE BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS, OR ANYTHING SERIOUS LIKE THAT!!!
