Mileage question
Mileage question
What are you guys getting mileage wise with your manual 7th gen civics out there? I got a brand new 2003 LX coupe (no mods yet), lead foot, have been using a/c, and average about 29, 30 mpg in mixed traffic. I thought I could do better than that, meaning somewhere between 32 and 38 mpg...
Any opinions?

A consistent 32.5 MPG average, 50% Hwy/50%City, CAI and 215/45/17 tires.
Give the car some time to break in... it took about 4000 miles for my car to break 30 MPG and stay there all the time.
Don't be a lead foot... that also saves gas.
Oh... and those EPA numbers are usually BS. They're found through some sort of equation and are "ideal" circumstances.
