No alarm system on my civic?
Re: No alarm system on my civic?
alarms were an option on 7th gens, they did not detect motion or vibration (at least the oem honda ones did not). The OEM ones for the 7th gen plug right in and cost about $140.
Re: No alarm system on my civic?
Honestly I had a full alarm for 10 years, half of the time I turned my motion sensors off because they would be triggered by cats, leaves falling, high winds etc, and I didn't want to be the annoying neighbor. If u park in rough neighborhoods, OK.

even in bad neighborhoods no one pays attention to them because they always go off, and most people have them haha

the best alarm is a basic shock sensor, set not very sensitive so only real alarms or thunder would trigger it, a completely different alarm siren than what you normally hear all the time, and dont keep valuables in the car. when someone looks inside, there should be nothing at all of interest. stock radio helps alot too cause then they wont think you have amps and subs in the back.
