Complaining Too SHORT a Commute! :)
I know lots of people would to love to have my problem. But my current commute is only 8.6 miles one-way. Is that bad for the car? should I make a detour each day to "warm up" the car some more?

the only reason i don't mind getting up at 5:35 am every day is the 27 mile drive that awaits me. It gets me pumped unless the traffic is real bad. i currently have to go through 4 different construction zones.

I live 2 miles from work... Winter is really a pain, need to warm-up the car before getting out or i would really mess the engine.

40 miles one way for me, takes about an hour cause speed limits are around 50mph. and heavy traffic. 8 miles isnt too bad in the summer for the engine to warm up.

Another bad thing about a short commute is, I can't get into the music!

My old commute was 30 miles and I really enjoyed it, it was a 20 years old Celica but it was top-down freedom with a good stereo. I miss my old ragtop.

before the construction, the fastest i've done it (in the middle of the night) was 25 mins, but usually takes me 55 mins to an hour and 5 mins. sometimes an hour 20 when it gets REAL bad. that doesn't happen too often.
